Mars Borough Athletic Complex
Mars Borough Athletic Complex, located at the intersection of Arch and Hazel, is the Borough’s multi-use field. It is primarily used for seasonal organized sports.
Current users include:
- Mars High School Athletic Department – Boy’s Baseball http://www.edline.net/pages/Mars_Area_School_District/Athletics
- Butler Eagle County Baseball League – Men’s adult amateur league, which has 2 Mars-based teams http://www.eteamz.com/eaglecounty
- Mars Area Recreational Sports (M.A.R.S.) – Mars Youth Football and Cheer Program (community based) – http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=marsyouthfootball&sid=76803293

- Mars High School Ultimate Frisbee Club part of The Pittsburgh High School Ultimate League (PHUL)
Other local organizations such as church softball leagues and women’s/men’s softball leagues have also used the field. There is no rental fee for the field, but organizations contribute to field maintenance costs through donations of materials and labor, and by paying their share of electricity and/or police coverage costs. Organizations or leagues must make application to use the field through the Borough Office, even for single use events, and must carry their own liability insurance. Use of the field on Sundays is limited to Borough residents and their families. This provides a time for individuals and families to use the facility for pick-up games, playing catch, etc. No organizations or leagues may use the field on Sunday without prior approval by Mars Borough Council. Residents may also use the field for informal recreation during the week if there is no other team scheduled there.
