NOTICE

TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE BOROUGH OF MARS, BUTLER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AND ALL INTERESTED PERSONS:

The Mars Borough Council will be accepting bids for the sale of the property and church building (formerly known as Dutilh United Methodist Church) located on 524 Pittsburgh Street, Mars, PA. 16046. The property is located in the R-3, Multifamily Residential District. The property currently qualifies as a permitted, nonconforming use as a church. You can view the Zoning Ordinance at the Mars Borough Website under the Code Enforcement link where you can then click on the eCode 360 link. There is no parking lot located on the property. Mars Borough Council is willing to consider an agreement for shared usage of the nearby parking lot owned by the Borough.

The Borough will be accepting bids for the property that are received no later than 3:00 p.m. on June 17, 2024. Along with the amount offered, each bidder must provide proof that the bidder will be able to pay the full purchase price (and any required fees) no later than 60 days after the bids are due as required by the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes Title 8, Boroughs and Incorporated Towns, Section 1201.1.

The Fair Market Value range is from $300,000 – $400,000. Council reserves the right to reject all bids and/or to reject those bids that fall below the Fair Market Value range. Those who are interested in bidding must contact either Bonnie Forsythe or Amy Brown at the Borough Office (724-625-1858) to schedule a viewing of the property, where you will also get a packet of additional information about the property and the procedure for the sale. The property is being sold “As Is” and it is strongly recommended that each bidder arrange for a review of the property by a professional inspector.
