Dear Mars Borough Friends and Neighbors,

Join us in celebrating the Fourth of July, the cherished birthday celebration of our nation! On this significant day, July 4th, 1776, our nation’s founders adopted the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the United States free from British rule. It serves as a momentous occasion to honor the indomitable spirit of our ancestors whose journey paved the way for our freedom. We also take this opportunity to express our gratitude to those who have served and continue to serve our country, safeguarding our cherished liberty.

As we celebrate this Fourth of July, let us pause and appreciate the remarkable lives we lead and the remarkable nation we call home. It is essential to embrace the Spirit of America, ensuring that we pass down the true history of Independence Day to our children and future generations. May the pride, unity, and love for our country ignite like fireworks within our hearts and minds. By upholding the ideals of freedom and a better life for all, we pave the way for a brighter tomorrow.

On behalf of your Borough Council, staff, and myself, I extend to you a happy and safe Fourth of July.

Enjoy the holiday with your family and friends, and join us beginning at noon for food trucks with fun activities on Pittsburgh Street.  At 3 p.m. we will have the Mars July 4th Parade, and we postponed fireworks on July 3rd because of the weather to have them happen on Saturday, July 8th at dusk.

Thanks,

Gregg Hartung
Mayor of Mars Borough
