July 4th Fireworks

presented by Mars Borough

July 4, 2020 Fireworks

After much debate and consideration, Mars Borough Council has decided to move forward with fireworks to celebrate Independence Day this year.

Fireworks will begin at dusk on Saturday, July 4, 2020. They will be set off on the east side of town, giving most residents of the Borough a good view, depending on tree cover.

Spectators are asked to follow all applicable CDC and PA Department of Health guidelines regarding social distancing and masks.

Donations Are Being Accepted

Normally, the Borough begins accepting donations months ahead of the celebration. The late Mayor Dick Settlemire, who was instrumental in bringing fireworks to the July 4th celebration, insisted that donations be gathered to for the fireworks. Unfortunately, donations are hard to come by right now and it just doesn’t seem right to ask small businesses, who are just now starting to get back on their feet, to shoulder the burden as they have so generously done in the past. If you are interested in making a donation, please fill out the form (below) and return to Mars Borough, PO Box 395, Mars, PA 16046.
