Some of you may be familiar with the Borough policy that states if water goes through a meter at a property it’s billable. If you are aware of this policy because you have had a leak (which has, hopefully, been fixed) you know leaks can “use” a lot of water. And, I mean a lot!

Starting March 19, 2018 and running to March 25, 2018, the DEP is hosting Fix a Leak Week to promote awareness among consumers of just how much water is lost in ordinary household leaks. Mars Borough also wants you to be aware of how much even the smallest leak could be costing you.

Check out Consumer Report’s Is Your Toilet Running Up Your Water Bill? for some helpful hints on locating leaks and, of course, the DEP’s Fix a Leak Week page for more information.
