598 Spring Street, PO Box 395, Mars, PA 16046

Fall begins and we all get into a different rhythm of life as the days get cooler and the leaves begin to turn colors to start their fall to the ground in our town.

Obviously, we at the borough are trying to plan what will be our possible dates for leaf pick-up! Watch for the dates to appear on our website in late October. Our Public Works Crew will appreciate your raking leaves as close to the curb as possible without large sticks or stones in the piles.

School bus safety is of the upmost importance by our police department. Please obey the state law of stopping when a school bus is picking up or dropping off students. Speeds throughout Mars are 15-25 miles an hour. If you are going the speed limit there should be no problem bringing your vehicle to a stop, no need to attempt to pass a bus. Obey our traffic laws!

The Homecoming Parade will be held on Grand Avenue (main street) in Mars on Friday, September 27, 2019 @ 5:00 PM. Streets will be closed, and traffic redirected between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM. The Mars High School Student Council arranges for this and it is a fun event. Please obey all traffic and parking in the downtown for the safety of everyone.

Fall also brings the longstanding Mars Apple Fest on October 5, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM throughout downtown Mars. We thank our friends at the RichMar Rotary for their coordination and planning of this event. Click on the link here for more info via the RichMar Rotary website. The Mars Downtown Business Association is planning on a Halloween Party with costumes on Saturday, October 26, 2019 for all ages. There will be prizes for those who dress-up and food from our local eateries. More information will be posted so be looking for it around town and on Facebook.

We are welcoming another new business to our community, in the former Mars Market Store. It is Salvaged, an interesting business, similar to Construction Junction. They have another location in Wexford next to Flynn Tires. This business will be bringing some new people to our community, and they will be doing specialty demonstrations like Blacksmith and metal work on occasion. We look forward to Brian Cooper and his business locating in our town!  (https://salvagedpgh.com/)

Our town is one of the safest small towns in the region and one that is seeing increased improvements for business, for living, for working, for education, and for play.

We are Mars! Just a little out of this world.
